MIVA: The first workshop of the Intercultural Cooking Course

The first workshop of the Intercultural Cooking Course was implemented on 10th October at the “Ginger – People & Food” restaurant in Agrigento. The course offers the opportunity to experience an intercultural cooking laboratory with the proposition of African, Italian and Sicilian recipes. The course is coordinated by the Senegalese chef Ndeye Mareme Sagar Cisse, recently awarded at the World Couscous Championship 2019 in San Vito Lo Capo, and involves 11 participants from different countries (Italy, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Cameroon).

The course includes 10 learning workshops and it is organized by “PRISM – International Promotion of Sicily World” in collaboration with “Al Kharub Social Cooperative” and the “Agrigento and Trapani Community Foundation” in the frame of the project “MIVA: Migrants’ Integration through Volunteering Activities” funded with the support of the “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund”.

The MIVA project aims to contribute to the integration of third-country citizens by promoting dialogue, volunteering, capacity building and intercultural animation processes in different local communities in Europe.
