On Friday 25th and Saturday 26th September from 5pm to midnight, in the setting of the splendid Villa Filippina, two festivals, both inspired by interculture, in different forms of art expression, were held with great success. These two events (Palermo 2020 Intercultural Day and “From Dreams to Reality” Intercultural Festival of Arts) were born from the collaboration of the association PRISM Promozione Internazionale Sicilia Mondo, within the project “MIVA, Migrants Integration through Volunteering Activities”, co-financed by the European programme “FAMI – Fondo Asilo, Migrazione e Integrazione”, with several other associations and respectively: the cultural association Quarto Tempo, within the Xinergie Project and the Arci Ikenga Palemo club, within the Dreams project, co-financed by the PartecipAzione – IN ACTION PER I RIFUGIATI programme, with the support of Intersos and UNHCR Italy – UN Refugee Agency.
The participation in the events of an international audience of different nationalities has allowed the encounter between music, dances and tastes of the West and East and has transformed the festivals into opportunities for meeting and comparison between various communities in the area.
