The Diocesan Caritas of Agrigento, the Mondoaltro Foundation Onlus, PRISM and Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani organize the festival “The roots and wings” in the context of World Refugee Day. The United Nations International Refugee Day is celebrated on June 20 to commemorate the approval in 1951 of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees). Nowadays the festival is a moment of intercultural encounter, reflection, social commitment and hope

Alganesc Fessaha (doctor, founder of the NGO Gandhi) spoke
The event is implemented in the frame of the project “MIVA – Migrants’ Integration through Volunteering Activities”, co-funded with support of the “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund – AMIF” program. The project aims to promote the implementation of interactive activities to enhance the integration of Third Country Nationals’ through their participation in the social and cultural life of the host community, and to foster capacity-building of local communities on successful integration via volunteering and cultural actions.
